Austin TX Rest Day
Taking our second day off since the start of our ride. Raining really hard here in Austin so we are lucky we are not riding. Terry is doing a fantastic job. I have been getting quite a bit of bike riding in between moving the car and all of the other jobs that come with this adventure. We are having a great time. This is a huge state with lots of raw open country.
Today I want to thank my feet for all of the support they give me. They are the most under rated and under appreciated part of our anatomy. They just keep on ticking and take a huge licking. What incredible structures they are and will serve us well if we tend to them periodically.
Lots of errands to be handled today before we trek out tomorrow. Funny how little things keep adding up that need to be handled. We both really appreciate all of the support we get from our family and friends. Thanks!!!!
As Royce as stated, there are many things to be done daily just to keep our wheels turning. We are at about the half way point. I say about because we just do not know what the weather holds for us. There are many things that have been asked ie...how many miles, how many flats, blown tires etc... I have good intentions to get that kind of data out, but for know keep the blog and facebook somewhat current and taking care of our equipment is about all we are able to do. As we get time we will get some other trivial data out. As many of you are aware Royce and I adhere to a Paleo lifestyle, which limits many foods. We have chosen to allow some grain into our diet for this trip. Mostly because there is just too many Mexican Food opportunities. We have actually done surprisingly well finding fresh Organic food. We also brought a lot of food with us to ensure our nutrition would stay on track. One of the things I have been wanting to try is water kettle boiled eggs. Since we have been in hotel rooms, we have not gotten the opportunity to do the cooking we had hoped. So today I did it. Look for a report later on the results.
